Welcome to Tel Aviv Smoke!
Tel Aviv Smoke is an idea that we’ve had for a while now, and while this may be the first you’ve heard of it, I can assure you it’s already changed and adapted a lot while we’ve been trying to truly figure out what we’re doing, what we want this all to be, and what we want to give.
First of all, who is “we”? We’re a group of friends, from all over Europe who moved to Israel together back in 2015. We all came from different backgrounds, speaking different languages, listening to different music and eventually, having started as complete strangers, we’ve gelled. And despite all of the differences, the one thing that binds everything and everyone together is weed.
Around the world currently we’re seeing a huge shift in attitudes towards, and the perception of weed. In October, Canada made history becoming the first, developed, western nation to completely legalize the plant. A growing number of US states too, are taking similar steps. Medical Cannabis breakthroughs are making huge changes to the pharmaceutical world with awareness of those properties becoming more widespread. Overall, cannabis, weed, marijuana, whatever you want to call it - is becoming more socially accepted, and is slowly forming into a completely normal reality.
That all leads us to what we’re doing here. Israel is one of the most openly accepting country for cannabis in the world. Legally speaking, steps have been taken to decriminalize, and while the path to legalization does not look to be a simple one, it is the social approval for smoking that is amazing. Of course, not everyone feels that way.
People outside of Israel often put the country into a bracket with the rest of the Middle East, especially when it comes to thinks such as the split between conservative and liberal. Even people in Israel may still look at weed as a fringe phenomenon. Nothing is further from the truth. Israel is the unofficial capital of medical cannabis research and applications, and you’d struggle to find a bar in Tel Aviv without the smell of a joint lingering in the air.
So, what are we trying to do? What is Tel Aviv Smoke? We want to not just celebrate Israeli Cannabis culture and everything around it, but put it on a platform for the whole world to see.
Welcome to our journey.
Welcome to the culture.
Welcome to Tel Aviv Smoke.
